Isaiah 30:1-17 NLT
1“Destruction is certain for my rebellious children,” says the LORD. “You make plans that are contrary to my will. You weave a web of plans that are not from my Spirit, thus piling up your sins. 2For without consulting me, you have gone down to Egypt to find help. You have put your trust in Pharaoh for his protection. 3But in trusting Pharaoh, you will be humiliated and disgraced. 4For though his power extends to Zoan and Hanes, 5it will all turn out to your shame. He will not help you even one little bit.”
6Look at the animals moving slowly across the terrible desert to Egypt-donkeys and camels loaded with treasure to pay for Egypt’s aid. On through the wilderness they go, where lions and poisonous snakes live. All this, and Egypt will give you nothing in return. 7Egypt’s promises are worthless! I call her the Harmless Dragon. F80
A Warning for Rebellious Judah
8Now go and write down these words concerning Egypt. They will then stand until the end of time as a witness to Israel’s unbelief. 9For these people are stubborn rebels who refuse to pay any attention to the LORD’s instructions.
10They tell the prophets, “Shut up! We don’t want any more of your reports.” They say, “Don’t tell us the truth. Tell us nice things. Tell us lies. 11Forget all this gloom. We have heard more than enough about your ‘Holy One of Israel.’ We are tired of listening to what he has to say.”
12This is the reply of the Holy One of Israel: “Because you despise what I tell you and trust instead in oppression and lies, 13calamity will come upon you suddenly. It will be like a bulging wall that bursts and falls. In an instant it will collapse and come crashing down. 14You will be smashed like a piece of pottery-shattered so completely that there won’t be a piece left that is big enough to carry coals from a fireplace or a little water from the well.”
15The Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says, “Only in returning to me and waiting for me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it. 16You said, ‘No, we will get our help from Egypt. They will give us swift horses for riding into battle.’ But the only swiftness you are going to see is the swiftness of your enemies chasing you! 17One of them will chase a thousand of you. Five of them will make all of you flee. You will be left like a lonely flagpole on a distant mountaintop.”
For the past three weeks and including today I saw on my clock 9:11. The interesting thing is, the Lord has awaken me right on time for me to see this. I ask the Lord to give me understanding on this. At first I thought about September 11 but after reading the chapter in Isaiah 30, I understand now that 911 is God, calling all His servants that are listening to Him, to not only pray but to lift their voices like a shofar and speak what the Father is saying.
God has given the message to Jesus who is the dispatcher and Jesus sends the message to us. We, His servants, are the ones who are in the ambulance driving around waiting on the call. He is sending us out to help His people who are in danger.
I realize by the Spirit of God that this 911 is not September 11 but a 911 call. If you think back on September 11, the emergency crews received a call after the attacks happened but God is doing the opposite. He is sending out the call before something happens. I write this introduction so that you may understand why I must share this word.
So what is the emergency?
There are those in the church who are in a rebellious state (state of being) which puts them in a state of emergency. To walk in rebellion is to have a heart that is cold and resistance to the will of God. You know what to do but you refuse to do it. As we look at this chapter, God is releasing a warning to the church of today. He says in verse one that destruction is certain for my rebellious children (church).
I speak to the church right now. God said that this is certain. You don’t have to wonder, ponder, or guess because I am giving you truth says God. Because of His love for you, He is saying that destruction is at your door because of your rebellion.
These are the other things that are making the church rebellious:
- Plans made contrary to the will of God
- A web of plans woven today not from His Spirit
- The church has gone to find help from those in Egypt, without consulting God
- Putting their trust in Pharaoh’s protection
- A refusal to hear the law of the Lord (The law here speaks of the prophet’s instruction, which is from the Lord)
- The church tells the seers not to see and the prophets to prophesy the right things to them.
